Submission Guidelines

Case Author
All cases should be written in collaboration with XLRI faculty. Students, industry experts, consultants and even non-academicians can be co-authors in any case.
Case Submission Guidelines
The author may choose to investigate any topic or subject area within the scope of business management. The case studies can be a compilation of field research, series of interviews, published sources or real-life circumstances. The final case submission should comply with the centre-approved format (refer to guidelines and template). Each case study should include sections on teaching structure, objective of the case, course area and related bibliography. Each case study should be within the range of 5 to 8 pages, excluding tables, figures, annexure and bibliography. A submission will not be considered complete without a well-structured teaching note (an acceptable length is of minimum 1000 words).

Steps to Develop a Case Study
- Identify the challenge/problem/issue.
- Identify the key protagonist of the case.
- Design the case around specific teaching objectives.
- Collect information (Primary/Secondary).
- Structure of the case:
- Historical backdrop of the problems/issues/challenges
- Causes and concerns of such problems/challenge.
- Assumptions, Analysis and discussion
- Steps taken/ planned to address the challenges.

2. Background of the business/company/individual
3. Main Body of the case:
4. The Road Ahead (Future vision, critical appreciation, Road map to move forward)
Accompanying Documents
Each case study should be submitted along with following documents:
- The case file, in Word (.doc or .docx) format
- Accompanying teaching note should be a separate file in Word (.doc or .docx) format
- Contact details of all authors and writers: names, email addresses and contact numbers in a separate Word (.doc or.docx) format
- Undertaking co-signed by the authors
Evaluation of Case Studies
Each case study will undergo initial evaluation followed by a blind review process. Only after successfully passing through an editorial screening the case is considered for the blindfolded peer-review process. The second stage is a rigorous evaluation of structure, content clarity, conceptual framework and presentation.
