Creating a Safe, Respectful and Inclusive Campus for All
At XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, we believe that a premier academic environment can only thrive when it is built on the foundation of dignity, equity and safety. The Internal Committee (IC) at XLRI serves as a cornerstone of this commitment, ensuring strict adherence to the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 — commonly known as the POSH Act.
Our Mandate
The ICC is a statutory body under Section 4 of the POSH Act, entrusted with:
- Preventing sexual harassment on campus
- Educating all stakeholders about respectful conduct
- Redressing grievances swiftly and sensitively
- Creating an ecosystem of confidentiality, fairness and justice
We aim to foster a campus culture where every student, staff, faculty member, and service provider feels empowered, respected and protected.

Our Vision
To build a zero-tolerance ecosystem toward sexual harassment through awareness, empowerment, redressal and empathy.
Functions of ICC
- Organize regular training and orientation for faculty, staff and students
- Provide confidential grievance redressal mechanisms
- Ensure timely inquiry and resolution (within 60 days)
- Collaborate with student body CEASE for grassroots awareness
- Submit Annual Reports in accordance with POSH guidelines
- Prevent retaliatory behavior or misuse of the redressal system
Awareness Campaigns & Trainings

How to File a Complaint
Send an email to: ic.com@xlri.ac.in
Complaint must be in writing and submitted within 3 months of the incident
Must include names, date, incident details and evidence if any
Complaints can be filed by any gender or third parties (under certain conditions)
Your Rights
You have the right to confidentiality (Sec 16 & 17)
You will not be penalized for genuine complaints
Retaliation against a complainant is a punishable offence
Appeals against ICC decisions can be filed within 30 days to the Dean (Administration)
Student Engagement through CEASE
CEASE (Committee for Awareness, Sensitisation and Empowerment) is a student-led body working closely with ICC to amplify awareness across all student cohorts including BM, HRM, GM, and FPM batches.
Penalties for Non-Compliance (Section 26 of the POSH Act)
- Fine up to ₹50,000 for first-time violation
- Cancellation of license or registration for repeated violations
