About Rutgers & XLRI Collaboration
Curriculum Structure
Admission Procedure
PGDM (Logistics & Supply Chain Management) from XLRI, Jamshedpur & MS in Supply Chain Analytics from Rutgers Business School, US is designed for candidates who aspire to build strong managerial and analytical capabilities in logistics, supply chain management, and supply chain analytics. The selection process will focus on academic preparation, analytical aptitude, professional orientation, and overall suitability for the programme.
Candidates must possess a recognized bachelor’s degree of at least three years’ duration in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.
Applicants may apply through any one of the following routes:
- GMAT scores obtained between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2026
- GRE scores obtained between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2026
- XAT 2027 scores
Candidates are expected to satisfy the minimum academic eligibility requirements prescribed by the programme.
Minimum Academic Performance Requirement
Candidates should have secured First Class in:
- Class 10
- Class 12
- Engineering / Undergraduate degree
Eligibility for Non-Engineering Graduates
Candidates from non-engineering backgrounds may also apply. However, their undergraduate degree should be from a recognized college or university.
Preference may be given to candidates whose undergraduate institution is NAAC “A” accredited or above, or has equivalent academic standing.
Relevant work experience in logistics, supply chain management, operations, procurement, manufacturing, analytics, warehousing, transportation, or related domains is preferred.
However, work experience is not mandatory.
The programme seeks candidates with strong academic credentials, analytical aptitude, and a demonstrated interest in logistics, supply chain management, and business analytics.
While preparing the shortlist and final merit list, the following factors may be considered:
- Academic performance in Class 10, Class 12, and undergraduate degree
- Performance in XAT, GMAT, or GRE
- Relevant work experience, if any
- Quality of academic institution attended
- Extra-curricular and leadership achievements
- Communication ability
- Analytical and problem-solving aptitude
- Motivation for pursuing logistics and supply chain management
- Performance in the online interview
- Overall fit with the objectives of the MDBM–LSCM programme
Candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Stage 2: Shortlisting of Candidates

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the online interview process.
Stage 3: Online Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the online interview process.
For candidates applying through GMAT/GRE, the online interviews will be conducted in January/February 2027.
For candidates applying through XAT 2027, online interviews will be conducted in March/April 2027, after the XAT results are announced.
The interview panel will assess the candidates:
- Academic preparedness

- Communication skills
- Motivation for pursuing the programme
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain management
- Professional experience and career aspirations
- Overall fit with the MDBM–LSCM programme
Stage 4: Final Selection and Offer of Admission
Final admission decisions will be based on the candidate’s overall profile, including academic record, entrance test performance, relevant experience, and online interview performance.
Candidates demonstrating strong academic credentials, clear motivation for supply chain management, and high potential for learning and leadership may be offered admission to the programme.
Selected candidates will be informed via email and will receive a formal admission offer from XLRI.

Tuition & Scholarship
Tuition and fees for the Rutgers year are set annually by the Rutgers Board of Governors and are subject to change. The figures below reflect the AY 2025–26 rate published at the time of the collaboration agreement; candidates should reconfirm at the time of enrollment.

XLRI Student Scholarship
Admitted XLRI students are charged out-of-state tuition but receive a one-time $12,500 scholarship in the form of a tuition credit — applied as $6,500 to the first-term bill and $6,000 to the second-term bill.
Year 1 — XLRI Jamshedpur
Follows the standard annual PGDM fee circular (tuition, hostel/mess, and deposit). Contact the programme office for current figures.
Note: All figures are indicative and subject to annual revision by the respective Boards of Governors. Candidates should refer to the official fee circular issued at the time of admission.
Getting to Rutgers
Students progressing to Year 2 must obtain an F-1 student visa to study at Rutgers. XLRI and Rutgers’ Office of Global Services provide documentation support.
Standard Process
- Rutgers issues Form I-20 upon confirmation of eligibility for Year 2 entry.
- Student pays the SEVIS I-901 fee and completes the DS-160 online visa application.
- Student attends the F-1 visa interview at the nearest US Embassy / Consulate.
If a Visa Is Denied — Your Options Are Protected
- First denial: The student may reattempt the visa application. Rutgers University will provide the necessary supporting documents, including a fresh Form I-20 if required.
- Second denial (Option A): Defer enrollment to the following year’s Spring semester. Original admission and entitlements, including the scholarship, remain valid.
- Second denial (Option B): XLRI reviews the matter on a case-by-case basis to determine the appropriate course of action.
